When you input your miles, a drop-down menu with both the adult's and students' names will appear so that you can indicate whose miles you are logging.
First, make sure you have registered for 2015. Each year you must re-register on the site in order to participate; however, if you are a returning user we can pull the majority of your information from last year.
You will have the opportunity to change any of your information via the Edit Profile profile.
Try checking your SPAM filter and make sure firstname.lastname@example.org is on your safe list. If you still haven’t received your password after doing this, please contact us for help. As a reminder, if you have participated in the campaign in previous years, you still have to register again each year to log miles for May is Bike Month.

You can compare cities by visiting the City Challenge page.
The person who created my employer group or team/club group is no longer participating. How do I edit this?

T-shirts are available at several events that appear on the MIBM Events Calendar, but not guaranteed. For example, you have a chance at winning a t-shirt at our Energizer Stations which take place around the region from mid April to mid May. Your best bet at getting a t-shirt is by going to Capitol Bikefest. You need to show proof that you have logged miles to receive a shirt. After Bikefest, any leftover shirts are usually distributed to some area bicycle shops including Mike's Bikes and City Bicycle Works. Also, you can receive a t-shirt through your employer if your employer is a member of a Transportation Management Association (TMA). If your employer is a member of a Transportation Management Association, contact your transportation coordinator who can give you a t-shirt.
How do I get socks?
Socks are available as part of our weekly prize drawings and sometimes available at our Energizer Stations. You can find a schedule of our Energizer Stations on the MIBM Events Calendar. There are some that are given away as door prizes at safety clinics which can be set up through your employer. Click HERE to find out more about Smart Cycle Clinics.
Other prizes, like gift cards, leg straps, and pint glasses, have been given for winning contests and competitions organized by local businesses. Check out theMIBM Events Calendar for opportunities.
You can earn badges in several ways: 1) Register and log miles on this site 2) Scan QR codes at certain events, at Energizer Stations, or at Shop Dine locations (see Calendar). 3) Click secret links, challenge friends, become a team captain, refer friends, or bike when it’s windy or rainy…
We’re sorry, but we cannot award badges to your profile if you forgot to scan a QR code at an event or found out about a QR code after the fact – it is part of the challenge for you to earn them yourself! Be sure to always be on the lookout at events for something to scan.

May is Bike Month is a campaign that takes place in the six-county Sacramento Region each year. The focus of our campaign is to promote bicycle use as a mode of transportation whether for running errands, commuting, riding recreationally, or working. We encourage people to get out of their cars and on their bikes year-round, but we make it a big deal every May so that as more people become energized and comfortable on their bicycles they will be more likely to replace a car trip with a bicycle trip year round. Fewer cars on the road improves air quality and reduces traffic congestion; and as more bike trips replace car trips, we expect to see a greater demand for investment in bicycling infrastructure and facilities.
Can I log miles ridden on my stationary bike? Walking miles? What about miles someone has "donated" to me?
We do not allow stationary bicycle miles or walking miles to be logged, and we ask that you ride your own miles rather than log miles others have ridden. The focus of our campaign is promoting bicycling as a mode of transportation. We allow recreation miles in the hopes that as more people become comfortable on their bicycles they will be more likely to replace a car trip with a bicycle trip. This is an effort to improve air quality and reduce traffic congestion in the hopes of creating a demand for investment in bicycling infrastructure and facilities.
Since the campaign is during the month of May, we only keep track of miles ridden during May each year. We applaud you for logging your miles year-round! Be sure to log your Commute, Errands, and Work/Meeting trips on sacregioncommuterclub.org year-round no matter what mode of transit you use. You can bid on gift cards that are raffled monthly using points earned each day you log miles in the trip diary. Use the same login info you use for mayisbikemonth.com
Our purpose is to organize the May is Bike Month Campaign and we are not an enforcement agency, we can only point you towards other resources. The information below should only be used as a starting guide.
If you feel threatened by someone while riding your bike, do not become confrontational, rather, remove yourself from the situation. If you feel the need to, call for support. If you are on the American River Bike Trail, call the Ranger Dispatch number: 916 - 875-PARK (7275). For other instances (on a public road), call 9-1-1 if it is an emergency, or the sheriff if it is not an emergency (Deputy dispatch: 874-5115) and report the instance. In most situations, it is advised not to react in anger but to remain calm.
Consider taking a Smart Cycling Class led by a League Cycling Instructor through the League of American Bicyclists. There are year-round opportunities for classes at http://smart-cycling.org/
We have looked into these types of apps/programs and unfortunately it's not possible due to implementation costs. This is something we are working for in future years. Stay tuned!
Be sure to check your spam and junk mail settings and include email@example.com in your safe sender list.
If you work for a state agency, unfortunately many of their servers do not allow our emails to go through. If you would like to receive these emails we recommend editing your email address to a home email address.
If you are still not receiving emails after taking the steps above, please contact us.
